What our customers say about us and our hoof stand:

Mr. Paddy Finnegan visited us here at the Royal Mews Windsor Castle with the footstand and hoof pick/searcher which he has developed...I think that these products would add great value to new students attending equine colleges ... I think that Mr Finnegan's teaching techniques should be highly recommended in this area.

I am happy to endorse the stand and tools... I now encourage many people I meet at events to adopt these techniques when studding up.

Met Paddy at an event and purchased a stand with a rasp. Brilliant, I have been tidying my big horses’ feet between professional trimmers visits for some years now and these new tools have made all the difference to me. The horses all took to the stand easily and seem to like its low position. For me, the effort was minimal with the rasp putting on a really nice roll quickly and easily.

The Finnegan Tools hoof stand is a great piece of kit for a horse owner wanting to do some maintenance trimming on their horses’ hooves. It has the best cradle setting I have used; the rubber grips the hoof and keeps it steady while the “mustang roll” is applied. Affordable, lightweight, and easy to use.

Paddy has perfected this hoof stand to be used on a variety of heights of horses and ponies. I use it for my 16.2hh ID cross and my 11hh Welsh pony. I trim my own horses’ feet under the watchful eye of Paddy Finnegan and find the stand invaluable, as I don’t have the strength nor toughness in my legs. This is a must for all female horse owners whether they are amateur or professional as this hoof stand is so useful for any work involved with your horses’ feet. I would highly recommend it.

This is a fantastic bit of equipment! My daughter does a lot of cross country and my back was always aching after putting in and removing the studs. The stand takes away all the strain and really makes life easier. It’s light and easy to use once you get the hang of it and the horses don’t seem to mind it at all. My husband even uses it just for mucking out their feet!

Ordered the stand on a Sunday, and arrived 3 days later as promised. Easy to put together, and works brilliantly. Horses took to it straight away and were instantly more settled and comfortable than previously, and my back hardly knows I did 12 feet this morning! Fantastic product, I am very pleased!

It certainly is a good stand I did all 4 feet in the time it usually takes to do one. Before I got my mare last September I don’t know when she last had her feet done, they were all broken off and flat-footed. I try to now rasp her feet every couple of weeks as she gets awful wings and excess hoof growth if I don’t. I am trying to train her feet to grow straight down without flaring. I couldn’t do this without it!

The hoof stand is great; it’s really back saving if holding the hoof up for a prolonged period such as fitting studs!

The Paddy Finnegan Equine Stand – a ‘must-have’ for anyone with a hoof pick! I use a Paddy’s Finnegan Tools stand and wouldn’t be without it for the hoof care of my horses. Paddy has been helping me with bare hoof trims since August 2013 and regularly visits my yard to help and advise me. He has demonstrated the safe use of the stand and supervised my technique to ensure I get all the benefits of using it correctly. Any serious horse lover will be familiar with the adage “no hoof no horse” but caring for hooves is heavy work! I speak from experience as my horses are Irish Draughts standing at 16.2 H and 17 H! With regular use, they now confidently rest their leg weight on the stand which is very sturdy – I’ve seen my 17 H horse lean completely on it without even a wobble! The stand takes the strain of heavy holding and when you have mastered the correct technique you will find working with both hands takes very little effort. This is a great piece of kit and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who is serious about actively caring for their animal’s hooves. A ‘must-have’ for anyone with a hoof pick!

Used this product and found it to be excellent! No straining on the back a really comfortable position. The horses are also comfortable in a natural position thus reducing stress and strain for both myself and my horses.

I love this stand! Makes keeping on top of my barefoot horse’s hoof maintenance and trimming an absolute doddle. It’s easy to put together and take apart for storing, and very easy to use. Saves a lot of back strain, and prevents the horse from leaning all his weight on you! Most helpful and excellent value too!

This hoof stand is brilliant! Simple to put together and to change from the cradle to the post. I use the hoof stand 3 or 4 times a week for trimming and for applying thrush treatment. Having the stand makes both tasks much easier and safer as I can use both hands! My horse is happy and comfortable using the stand which means I can do more in one go without having to keep putting her foot down so I can have a rest or shift position. I have nothing negative to say about this hoof stand! It really is fantastic and has incredible value for money. Every yard should have at least one!
